Powerhouse Japan takes on Mali on tonight's 2nd round of the group
Japan defeat Paraguay on first round of group stage 5-0 with Paraguay having 1 men Red Card
Mali draw 1-1 with Isreal with an own goal by Mali defender
Japan's squad is the only one in Paris without any overage players
Despite the absence of some of their more senior players , there is an abundence of attacking cohesion among the youngsters, which was evident in their opening game of the tournament
Taking advantage of Paraguay 10 men midway thru first half , even though the score was already 1-0 in Japan's favour , they dominated the second half and went on to secure a 5-0 victory , setting themselves up for a likely quarter final appearance .
With the result of previous game , Japan have now scored 12 goals while conceding 5 in their last 6 matches .
My Verdict
Japan have been doing so good in all thier games , we are likely to see them dominate this game as well . Even though Mali is not a weak team . But with the form and momentum japan bringing forward from their Paraguay match up , i can see that this game will not be much of the difference .
Mali previous game where we saw them letting in an own goal resulting them unable to get 3 points for that match was an let down . Japan are the clear favourite here , Mali do have some talented players in their squad and likely to pose more problems to Japanese than 10-men Paraguay .
Both team have played against each other once in a Friendly game back in 2018 where 1-1 draw was the result of the game
Mali looked solid againts Isreal and we expect them to put a better performance against Japan than Paraguay managed , but Japan are in a great rhythm in this competition and we feel that they will outscore Mali in this one
